In spring of 2024 Sarah Blum donated a sequence of 43 oil-based crayon paintings — her late husband David Blum’s psychological legacy — to ISAPZURICH. This illuminating series is this
autodidactic painter’s self explorative journey, his individuation process, as he grapples with cancer. Through his dreams he meets his inner guide, a Wise Old Dog, his own inner wisdom, that
supports and comforts him on his ultimate transformative journey. This course comprises 6 short lectures.

Unconscious Forces Made Conscious as explored through select works of C.G. Jung and Hilma af Klint
We will study af Klingt's swan paintings and Jung's mandala sketches. After a brief overview of their respective calls to create and their individualt processes, we will enter into a dialogue on
the subject of the basic concepts of the psychological interpretation pf pictures. Do the images touch you? How? What symbols and archetypes are present? Are archetypes of the individuation
process to be seen? Is a transformational or vitalising force to be found? Are soul and self represented in the images?

Get to know the ISAPZURICH Picture Collection. The purpose of the Picture Collection is the creation of an anonymized picture collection and database of materials from clients who have been in
analysis with a therapist or analyst trained in the tradition of C.G. Jung's analytical psychology. The aim, in addition to securing the artistic creations in both material and electronic form,
is to make such valuable material available to ISAPZURICH analysts and students for learning, teaching and research purposes.

The Tree Drawing
The tree drawing is a way to invite the unconscious into the analytic setting by asking the analysand to draw a tree (not a needle tree). The theory based in empirical research will be presented.
Thereafter, we will practice interpreting such drawings with focus on the attitude of the analyst.

Childhood and Young Adulthood as related to Jung's Paintings and Dreams.
Tthis guided walking rour visits places in and around Basel where Jung lived and went to school from ages 4 to 25. Connections are made between Jung's dreams, paintings, ancecdotes and theories.
There is the opportunity to visit reconstructions of two alchemical laboratories after the tour.

How we work with the Tree Drawing/Test

Session one will start with a short experiential introduction followed by theory on the Tree Drawing. During the 2nd and 3rd sessions, 2 analysts will present their views on a tree drawing done

C.G. Jung Basel Walking Tour (2): Home of Alchemy and of C. G. Jung
This is a guided walking tour of Basel that creates a parallel between C.G. Jung's interest in alchemy and Basel as a center of alchemy in the 15th and 16th century. Besides visiting two
buildings where Jung studied as well as a brief tour around the Basel Cathedral, we will venture down to Kleinhüningen to see the parish where Jung grew up and the church where his father worked.
The tour ends at Totengässlein at the Pharmaceutical Museum that houses a historical collection of healing methods and two alchemical laboratories. Costs for train and museum tickets and lunch
are responsibility of the participants. Further information will be provided upon request and/or registration.

Swedish artist Hilma aft Klint (1862-1944) and C.G. Jung (1875-1961) were near contemporaries. By comparing and contrasting Jung's first mandala sketches and drawings, af Klint's Swan Series and
woodcuts from the Rosarium Philosophorum, the themes of inspiration, archetypal patterns, alchemy, individuation, and Zeitgeist are brought together, inspiring ways of knowing.
